Restaurant Kallmünz

Fine dining in ancient walls
Behind a discrete old gate at the eastern end of Merano's Piazza dellla Renna lies the Kallmünz restaurant.
The time-honored walls of the 14th century castle of the same name have been home to a small but fine restaurant for some time now, where you can combine pleasure and relaxation with excellent food and fine wines away from the hustle and bustle of Merano's old town.

Skillfully and with great attention to detail, the cozy dining room with its old wooden ceiling, which suggests a former stable, has been combined with modern furnishings. The courtyard offers enough space for several outdoor tables, which are suitably framed by old fig trees, jasmine and oleander.

Impressions

A small palace revolution
At the beginning of 2014, the far around known and appreciated chef Giuliano Ottaviano left the Kallmünz and with mid-April 2014 brings a new, young team of experienced restaurateurs the management of kitchen and service. Their objective, the Kallmünz with a new, slim menu, coupled with moderate prices is nothing to oppose, on the contrary: So now finally also normal earning citizens can enjoy a stay in these beautiful walls!
The menu, created by Chef is kept concise with four starters, main courses and desserts, but every day there is a new selection of regional specialties and international dishes, which are prepared by Chef Conte Giovanni Battista and his team from fresh and nutritious ingredients.

L’angolo

In summer 2016, the L'angolo, a small, fine aperitivo bar directly at the entrance of the restaurant Kallmünz has also opened! A visit there is worthwhile, look forward to a cool sparkling wine or a masterfully prepared Veneziano in the small bar or in the small, historic courtyard with its old, romantic walls!
