Prantacher Hut

Insider tip for gourmets
The Prantacher Hut, also called Fartleisalm because of its location, is situated in the Passeier Valley above the village of San Martino at 1470 meters above sea level.
Accessibility of the Prantacher Hut
By car to St. Martin in Passier Valley, directly in the village turn right following the signs to the golf club for about 500 meters, then turn left up towards Prantach (well signposted). From here turn right up to the "Prantacher Alm". After about 3 km of tarred road you will reach the hamlet of Fartleis, where there is usually ample parking. From here begins the hiking trail to the Prantacher Alm, which initially leads you through the wild and romantic Fartleis valley, which then opens up a bit to make room for more alpine meadows.

The ascent to the alp takes about 1 hour, which leads alternately on forest roads, through forests, but also through mountain meadows steadily upwards. Especially the passages through forests and meadows are somewhat steeper, if you want to take it a little easier, or perhaps you have a stroller to push, you can simply stay on the comfortable, less steep forest road.

Impressions

The ascent to the mountain pasture takes about 1 hour, which leads alternately on forest roads, through forests, but also through mountain meadows steadily upwards.
Especially the passages through forests and meadows are somewhat steeper, if you want to take it a little easier, or perhaps you have a stroller to push, you can simply stay on the comfortable, less steep forest road.

Around the entrance of the alpine hut you can take a seat at the large spacious tables and enjoy the view of Pfandlerspitze, Hühnerspiel and Alpler Spitze, while the very friendly landlady takes your order. In general, everything is very neat here, many flowers decorate the outdoor area, behind whose fence not only cows leisurely ruminate, but also chickens, pigs, goats, turkeys and goats leisurely enjoy the sun.

The Parantacher / Fartleis Hut is famous for its cuisine, but especially for its dumpling dishes. These are served here "on water & on land" , that is on a bed of lettuce or in a wooden soup pot... "classic" with fresh ingredients such as nettles and herbs in alpine butter and served with Parmesan cheese- A poem!

In case the huge dumpling portions were not enough for you: At the Prantacher Alm there are always fresh cakes and of course the Kaiserschmarren:

Unfortunately, time passes far too quickly here, the way back to the car is via the same path as the ascent, alternatively you can reach the Pfandler Hut via the rocky path from here, and turn this excursion into a circular hike.
