From Plan in Val Passiria to Lazins Hut

Winter dream
Plan in the Passeier Valley is considered a snow guarantor in winter. From Merano this quite remote mountain village can be reached in about 50 minutes by car.
Plan is well known for its skiing facilities, but also as a great starting point for excursions to the Stettiner Hut and the whole Tessa mountain range. The most famous destination is the Lazinsalm, both in summer and in winter!
But the most popular destination here is the hike from Plan to the Lazins Hut! Car-free and yet comfortable- Pfelders. In the wildly romantic mountain village of Plan itself, pedestrians have priority, cars must be parked at the village entrance in the large parking lots. But if you want to be comfortable, you can be transported by a small train on wheels through the village center up to Zeppichl!

Directly at the parking lot the valley station of the chairlift "Grünboden Express" still characterizes the picture, from there you walk over snow-covered streets into and through the village with its neat wooden houses, from where the hike from Plan to the Lazins Hut takes its course.

Impressions

Immediately after the village and the noisy hustle and bustle of the drag lift just behind it, it becomes quieter. It goes gently up to the Zeppichl, a farm with a refreshment stop. Directly after that follows a short ascent through a larch forest. This takes about 10 minutes and leads to the transition into the wide Lazinser valley, from there wide pastures and alpine meadows line the trail.

Here it becomes really pleasant, it goes along the stream to the Lazinser Hof, a large, rustic mountain hut with excellent food and very friendly innkeepers! From there the view sweeps over the Lazinser alpine meadows up to the Stettiner Hütte. The refuge Lazinser Alm, which is again about 45 minutes walk away, we do not visit this time, because this is unfortunately closed in winter.

Conclusion: A pleasant, short hike in a wonderful landscape, which is very suitable for families with small children!
