Zirmtal Hut

Hike to the idyllic alp with lake
To reach the Zirmtal Alm the following applies: No pain, no gain!
The trail climbs steeply, especially in the second half, before you can put your feet in the water on the shore of the green Zirmtal lake, with a view of the peaks of the Val d` After a breather at the lake, you will be served with food and drink at the Zirmtal Hut!
The proverbial quietness on the Zirmtal Alm and the Zirmtal Lake is owed to the fact that from the parking lot Freiberger Säge you first have to overcome just over 650 meters of altitude to be able to enjoy it. So, thanks to this circumstance, the wheat is separated from the chaff here, noisy groups of package tourists and likewise all those who manage only a few meters after the car, there are not here.
The ascent is first relatively flat and gem¸tlich up to the Marsoner Alm, then goes with progressing path more and more crisply upwards. The last meters of altitude lead on a rather steep trail along the Zirmbach up to 2155 meters.
Right next to the original hut is the lake, which you can walk around in about 25 minutes. Around the lake you will find plenty of rest and picnic areas, where you can recover from the exhausting climb.
