From here the route climbs through the woods, partly on steep hairpins, to Labers. Then along the Sissi path, past Rametz Castle into the Naif valley, past the Prinz Rudolf Smarthotel to the valley station of the Merano 2000 cable car. Directly above the station a narrow path leads to the Hafling road; once across it, a (private) gravel road leads to the road that climbs to the Gsteier. Follow this for about 800 metres until the forest road branches off to the left in a right-hand bend. From here the Zmailerhof is signposted. After about 2 km on forest road no. 24, which climbs at a pleasant gradient through the woods, turn right at a fork towards the Zmailerhof. The very first metres are quite steep, then the gradient eases a little but stays narrow and demanding, with some tight hairpins in which the front wheel does not like to stay on the ground. (This final climb has its own Strava segment: Zmailer Uphill E-Bike.) After this challenging section you reach the wide mountain meadows that surround the Zmailerhof.
After the Zmailerhof follow the tarmac road for about 700 metres, then take the forest road “Zmailer Platz” on the right. After a few bends the steep, partly exposed trail to the Repeater branches off to the right. This trail is strictly for trained and technically skilled riders. The reward: a dream view from the Repeater over Merano and its surroundings.

A stop at this well-known farm inn, the Zmailerhof, is (almost) compulsory, not least because from the large terrace you can enjoy a glorious view along with home-made specialities!
