Moschwald Hut
The Moschwald Hut is located at 1750 meters above Avelengo. Since 1997, the Reiterer family has been taking care of the well-being of their guests who stop here, but also of about 70 head of cattle that spend the summer months around the alp.
You can reach the Moschwald Hut on foot or by MTB from Avelengo and Falzeben, but also from Merano 2000. From Avelengo the ascent via hiking trail no. 15 takes approx. 1.5 - 2 hours (approx. 450 meters altitude difference).
From Merano 2000, hiking trail no. 17 leads here via the mountain located to the south of the skiing and hiking area. (approx. 40 minutes).
From Falzeben the ascent via hiking trail no. 51 takes about 1 h. (approx. 150 meters in altitude). This is certainly the most popular ascent, because after an initially flat path and crossing the Sinichbach stream, it leads along an old, romantic flagstone path through a picturesque larch forest. After this climb you will soon reach the alpine pasture.
From Merano 2000, hiking trail no. 17 leads here via the mountain located to the south of the skiing and hiking area. (approx. 40 minutes).
From Falzeben the ascent via hiking trail no. 51 takes about 1 h. (approx. 150 meters in altitude). The alpine hut is located on a gentle clearing directly on the forest road, which leads further to the Maiser Hut. To the front the terrain is open and dominated by meadows, behind the hut begins the forest through which the hiking trail continues to Merano 2000. The alpine hut stands separately from the cowshed on a small hill and has a very well-kept outdoor area with wooden tables and benches on the sunny side of the hut. From here you can reach the Maiser Hut in a few minutes, which is just next door. The Moschwald Hut is also the perfect place to stop after a round hike, which leads from
Falzeben to Merano 2000 and below the „Spieler", a famous vantage point, leads back again.

Traditional alpine dishes such as hearty Schepsernem, Mediterranean-inspired hut noodles and delicate dumpling variations are served daily with fresh apple strudel, as well as homemade juices.
